I never cease to be amazed by Fractals!
From dictionary.com
frac·tal
(frktl)
n.
A geometric pattern that is repeated at ever smaller scales to produce irregular
shapes and surfaces that cannot be represented by classical geometry. Fractals
are used especially in computer modeling of irregular patterns and structures in
nature.
Fractals are truly the
ART of mathematics. There are a number of formulas which produce fractals. Each formula produces a different type of fractal. I've heard that a computer repeats that formula millions of times to produce a small fractal image. And the thing that amazes me the most, is that even though an equation produces a certain TYPE of fractal, it NEVER REPEATS THE SAME EXACT FRACTAL PATTERN TWICE! Fractals are like snowflakes, each one totally new.The fractals in these pages were produced on my computer
. The program used is a screensaver program called SERACTAL 3These Fractal Galleries contains a collection of my favorite fractals. I will add to these from time to time.
