Donations and Fundraising for Marianna Hartsong

Marianna Hartsong

11/23/2009

Greetings, Dancers and Friends,

The home of our Sedona and Cottonwood, AZ Dance leader Marianna Hartsong burned down on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 21. Fortunately she was not in the house…. she was playing a concert in Cottonwood. So she had one of her musical instruments with her. She had ridden with another musician to the concert. Her truck was in the driveway of her home. Firemen were able to push it away from the house. Her computer and cell phone were in the house. Her two dogs were outside, and they are ok. One of the cats has been seen, but can’t be located now. She believes the other cat must be dead.

I spoke with Marianna this evening. She said to tell people she is doing well – that in fact, she feels a lightness, as if a weight has been lifted from her. She asked that people not hold any energy of worrying about her, but rather to hold her in a prayerful focus of well-being.

She said it’s really too soon to know what here needs are. Her first order of business will be to find a place to live. (She does have a temporary place to stay.)

She has a loaner cell phone, which apparently has been programmed with her cell phone number. She said close friends will already have that number, but not to give it out, as she will be just way too busy to be answering an avalanche of phone calls. She appreciates the concern that is being extended to her. She will get back online as soon as possible to connect with people.

She spent several hours at the house this afternoon, with the fire department, and she said she found her violetta unburned in the bottom of the closet. A lot of clothing had fallen down over it and protected it from burning. And of course she had one instrument with her yesterday, as she was playing a concert.
