Dowsing

Dowsing has also been called DIVINING. It is literally getting in touch with our true Divine Self, which is connected with All-That-Is, and which therefore can tap into knowledge that our limited conscious minds are unable to access. The hand which holds the pendulum or dowsing rod is the Divining Hand. And that hand is the Hand of the Divine, because....

"You are literally a drop of God in a sea of God." ~Donald Schnell

Therefore, it should come as no surprise that we have access to all sorts of information, if we only know how to access a non-verbal language to receive information. We need a way to assess both the seen and the unseen which bypasses the conscious mind. I have heard that what the conscious mind is able to perceive is only about 4% of all that is possible for us. We need a way to access the subconscious, the unconscious, and the superconscious levels of our own Being-ness, which is an integral part of All-That-Is.

Everything which EXISTS, whether in the manifested "reality" of our 3-D physical world, or in the energetic realm of thoughts, feelings, intentions, and imagination, is made up of energy, and our bodies are very sensitive energy measuring devices. Everything has an energetic signature, and we literally "feel the vibes." But most of the energetic information our bodies are sensing is so subtle that our minds are not aware of it on the conscious level. However, our total being has access to much more information than our conscious mind does, and this information is available to us. We just need a way to access other levels of consciousness and "body knowing." Dowsing is a way of measuring the energetic signatures of the energetic reality  around (and within) us, and giving us an objective "readout" of those energies.

I began dowsing in 1987. I had been ill for several years, and the doctors I went to just wanted to give me more and more antibiotics, which I knew instinctively were part of the problem, not part of the solution. Some doctors actually told me my symptoms were all in my mind and there was really nothing wrong with me. In short, I was mis-diagnosed, and truly "mis-treated" by the allopathic medical system.

Then a friend took me to see a wonderful herbalist and healer named Hannah Kroeger in Boulder, CO. Hannah asked me a couple of very general questions and then spent about 2 minutes going over my body with a pendulum, asking questions in her mind about my condition. She announced: "YEAST!"

At that time my only association with "yeast" was the stuff you use to make bread rise. I had never heard of candida, but what I had was a massive systemic candida yeast infection, which was affecting many, if not all, of my organs and body systems. She recommended a book, "The Yeast Syndrome," by John Parks Trowbridge. I recognized myself on every page! At last I had a diagnosis! I had been to many doctors, paid a lot of money, been ridiculed and "mis-treated," and had received no help at all. And here, in 2 minutes, this wonderful woman had accurately diagnosed my condition with a pendulum!!

I was impressed! I said, "Hey, this is cool! I must learn how to do this!" So I bought a book on dowsing and taught myself to use the pendulum to answer yes and no questions, and my love affair with dowsing began. It's been VERY helpful to me in many areas of my life.

There are a few guidelines I feel are important to mention about dowsing:

Almost anything can be dowsed, but for me at least, it seems that information is available to me on a "need to know" basis. If it will be beneficial for  me or my friend, relative, or client to find out the information, it is available. If for some reason it would not be beneficial for the person, the information is not given.

The generally accepted way to begin dowsing is to ask the following 3 questions:

CAN I? This means, am I able, physically, mentally,   emotionally and spiritually, to do this work?

MAY I? This means, do I have permission on all levels to ask about the condition of this person or situation?*

SHOULD I? This means, is it in the highest and best good of all concerned to receive this information?

If you don't ask these questions before you begin, you might get some results, but it is highly unlikely that you will receive correct information!

*Also, please don't assume that if a person asks you to dowse something about or for them, that you have permission on all levels. There are cases where actually receiving the information they request would be detrimental to the path of their soul's growth and healing. It might be something that they are not able to process in a positive manner at the present time. So please, ask permission from ALL levels of a person's consciousness....and if you receive a NO, ask the person to have a conversation with all parts of themselves, asking to receive the information they are requesting. If you still get a NO, DON'T GO THERE! It's an invasion of their psychic space, and it's not good karma!

It is also important to ask clear direct YES or NO  questions, and only one question at a time. If you ask a fuzzy question, you get a fuzzy response!

Always ask for the POSITIVE. For instance, if you want to test whether a food is beneficial for you, ask, "Is this (coffee, for instance) beneficial for me?" If you get a negative response you will know it is NOT beneficial for you. But if you suspect something might be detrimental for you, and you ask "Is this (coffee) detrimental for me?" and you get a positive response, you are getting a positive when the real meaning of the response is negative, and are just setting yourself up for confusion. So always ask for the positive.

I teach basic dowsing skills, using the pendulum and L-rods. If you or your group are in the Sedona/Northern Arizona area and would like to begin dowsing please contact me.

If you are in another part of the country you can find someone in your area by contacting the American Society of Dowsers. They will put you in touch with the nearest local chapter.

The local chapters also have meetings once a month (usually) and they investigate many subjects which can be dowsed, or which are directly about dowsing. I have participated in these local groups in Texas and here in the Sedona area, and all of the meetings have proved to be fascinating. I've also met many wonderful people through the meetings and regional conferences of the American Society of Dowsers!
