Kitchen Cabinets

We found these unfinished pine cabinets in Flagstaff and were happy to discover that they were all plywood construction -- not particle board. We stained them ourselves with our favorite red oak color, which we also used on all the doors in the house.

And I had seen some very cool cabinet hardware made to look like little spoons -- but each drawer pull was about $5 each. I counted how many we would need and said, "Oh, no! I don't think so! That's waaaaay too much money! There must be a better way!" So I began going to places like Goodwill and buying spoons for 25 cents apiece. Much more affordable! Tim and our friend Ron bent the spoons, and drilled holes in the bowl of the spoons so that they could be installed on the cabinets with screws.
Voila! Custom spoon drawer pulls and handles!
